In recent years, Vietnam’s logistics industry has experienced remarkable development with an average annual growth rate of 14-16%, bringing the country’s total import-export turnover to nearly 700 billion by 2023 and estimated to reach about 370 USD in 2024, an increase of 15.7% over the same period in 2023.

Welcoming the FIATA President’s visit to Vietnam, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh highly appreciated FIATA for supporting the Vietnam Logistics Services Business Association to host the FIATA World Congress in 2025.

Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized the importance of developing strategic infrastructure and improving the quality of human resources. The Government of Vietnam is developing a Logistics Services Development Strategy for the period 2025 – 2035, with a vision to 2045. This strategy includes specific goals such as increasing investment in seaports and road infrastructure. railway, road and aviation, as well as applying advanced technologies to improve operational efficiency.

The Prime Minister asked FIATA to support Vietnam in sharing information, consulting and technical support on digital transformation and green transformation, focusing on logistics development solutions so that Vietnam can soon complete the National Strategy. participating in logistics service development in 2024. At the same time, he also wants FIATA to pay attention to developing human resources for the Vietnamese logistics industry through training and capacity building programs for businesses. The Prime Minister affirmed that the Vietnamese Government will accompany domestic and foreign partners, support and create all favorable conditions for economic, investment, trade and service cooperation activities, with special attention paid to economic cooperation activities. Focus on cooperation in developing logistics services to bring more benefits to all parties in the spirit of “harmonious benefits, shared risks”.

He commented that the logistics industry plays an important role in the current context but also faces many big challenges. He also highly appreciated Vietnam’s logistics service development strategy for the period 2025-2035, with a vision to 2045, especially in the fields of digital transformation, green transformation and Vietnam’s commitment to achieving net zero emissions by 2050.

FIATA President realized that Vietnam has great potential to become a logistics center of the region and the world, and proposed that Vietnam needs to mobilize all social resources to develop this economic sector.
